  • Thanks at the End of the Year 2025: We are deeply indebted to everyone who contributes to the life of our parish. To name people individually would be foolish. However, I would like to acknowledge the work of all who are involved in various roles in the parish. You know the work that you do, the commitment you have shown, the hours you have selflessly given. It is deeply appreciated. It is all done in the service of God but we in the parish are the beneficiaries. There was a time when ‘helping out in the parish’ meant that it had something to do with keeping the church clean! The giftedness of parishioners is now given expression in so many different ways. At every level of parish life, from decision making to teaching our children, from leading choirs to serving at Mass, from Eucharistic Adoration to child protection, people are making both a contribution and a difference. The parish does not belong to any one person or group. It is a coming together of so many to worship, as well as putting in place the building blocks to pass on the gift of faith today and in the future. Thank you once again and may God bless the work that he has begun in so many who actively participate in parish life.
  • Financial Support of Parish and Clergy: A sincere word of thanks to all who contribute financially to our parish each year. Your contributions cover the cost of the day-to-day expenses incurred by the parish as well as the salary of the clergy. Your generosity is always deeply appreciated. If any family/individual would like to contribute through the envelope system or set up a standing order, please contact the parish office.

Seek the World of Love

Richard Rohr, a Franciscan friar from the U.S., is one of the best-known spiritual writers of our time. He has written about the fact that we live in two worlds.

“There are always two worlds. The world as it usually operates on power, ego and success. The world as it could be, operates out of love. One is founded on dominative power, and the other is a continual call to right relationship and reciprocal power. The secret of our life is to discover how we can live in both worlds simultaneously.”

My prayer at the start of a new year, is that we will find the world that operates out of love. This is the world where the teachings of Jesus on compassion and simplicity flourish. This is the world where the simple joys of gathering with loved ones, recognising and enjoying the beauty of all creation, extending a helping hand to a person in difficulty will fill the year ahead of us with love, peace and joy. Happy New Year!
